Tourism in Morocco has soared in the first half 2008, which is great news for property investors.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), demand for rental accommodation in Morocco appears to be strong as the country attracts a growing number of visitors.
Indeed, the number of international tourist arrivals in Morocco jumped by more than ten per cent (year-on-year) in the first five months of the 2008.
This is despite the fact that many consumers across the world are currently being hit by various financial constraints including rising food and fuel prices.
Responding to the figures, UNWTO secretary general Francesco Frangialli was optimistic about the future, commenting: "Given current circumstances we are cautious, although we remain positive for the overall industry perspectives in 2008."
The growth in the Moroccan tourism sector is likely to be good news for those who own a buy-to-let property in the North African nation.
